June 8, 2007 was a bittersweet day as Nettelhorst families attended a festive picnic hosted by the Nettelhorst Parent-Teacher Co-op. The weather was perfect….warm and sunny, as children and parents and neighbors gathered in the back play lot to picnic and play and laugh….and say good-bye to our wonderful principal, Dr. Susan Kurland, who is retiring. In her eight years at Nettelhorst, Dr. Kurland has turned our school into one of the finest in the city. We are so grateful for all she has done and will miss her dearly.
