Because of a multitude of maintenance and construction projects at Nettelhorst scheduled to occur over the summer break, Jane’s Place Summer Camp will not take place. 

Several camps are still open for registration for the 2009 summer months.  Jane’s place is referring parents to the summer camp at RAP (Resurrection Afterschool Program).  This camp is offered at Hawthorne school.  Information for RAP can be obtained by calling or email the camp directors, Karen Fiore and Diana Delfin at 773-525-0605 or rapkids@gmail.com

Takeda Pharmaceuticals has provided funding to support the launch of Nettelhorst Community Group’s Science Vision Campaign.  The Science Vision campaign seeks to provide The Nettelhorst School students with an effective and rich science curriculum and experimental space to prepare them for high school and beyond.  It will substantially increase opportunities for extracurricular science activities, including enrichment programs and after-school clubs.  The project’s renovated lab will provide students with critical resources to excel in science, and prepare them for leadership in facing the world’s challenges in the coming decades. 

The donation reflects Takeda’s long-standing committment to community, and its belief that supporting the next generation of innovators means supporting science education.  Takeda believes in the power of education for young people and works with numerous organizations to provide scholarships and fellowships in science.
