Parent Information Sessions for Next Year

Parents will have an opportunity to meet a teacher from the next grade level and ask general questions regarding grade-level expectations.  There will also be current parents of that grade-level to answer questions incoming parents might have.

The following schedule will allow all parents to discuss important issues concerning next year. All meetings will take place in the auditorium at 9:15 a.m.

June 1st- Pre-K parents of children going to Kindergarten

June 2nd-Kindergarten parents of children going to 1st Grade

June 3rd-1st Grade parents of children going to 2nd Grade

June 4th-2nd Grade parents of children going to 3rd Grade

June 8th-3rd Grade parents of children going to 4th or 5th  Grade

June 9th-5th Grade parents of children going to 6th Grade

June 10th-6th or 7th Grade parents of children going to 7th or 8th Grade

International Festival-Save the Date!

Join us for a trip around the World!!!

Friday, June 4th, 2010 5-8pm

This year’s International Festival will have a slightly different look and feel.  Parents and guests will travel the globe by visiting various areas in the school where students will peform songs and dances, exhibit visual art projects and conduct presentations.

Each grade level will share their learning at scheduled times and showcase their studies with visual art exhibits,

museum-style tours, live singing and dancing, demonstrations, recorded performances, and more

Cyber Bullying Prevention Workshop

Watch the news today and you will find that bullying is on the rise in schools, even the best schools.  Cyber bullying has created a new way to reach victims 24 hours a day.  The emotional impact can be devastating.

Mary Morton from the Morton group will provide us with valuable information regarding bullying and what we can do as a community to be proactive in providing a safe, nurturing environment. Mary Morton is also working with the staff to develop a peer mediation program for Nettelhorst

 Join us as we talk about strategies to keep all of our friends and children safe and take a proactive step in bullying prevention, especially during the summer months.

 

 

Special Incentive:

 The class with the largest percentage of attendance will win an ice cream party.
